We understand that dressage can seem quite complex sometimes. We have created a FAQs page to help you out with any questions you may have. Please email us if you have any other questions or concerns.


We do strongly recommend that you read the Equestrian Australia Rule Book, and the Equipment Annexure for more specific details regarding tack and rules.

How do I enter events?

Our club uses Global Entries Online to organise events

On Global you can join our club, enter events and update your horse and your own details.

If you are a member, you will receive an email advising that entries for each competition have opened.

How do I join the club?

To join our club, go to Global Entries Online and join this website. Then select Clubs and select our club and follow prompts to join.

Can I join in if I’m new to Dressage?

Yes! We accept riders from all walks of life, even if you are just starting out with Dressage.


What kind of tack do I need for dressage?

In order to do dressage, you will need a saddle that fits your horse decently.

You will also need a snaffle bridle in competition for lower-level dressage. Please read the Equestrian Australia Rule Book for more specific information. Also the Equipment Annexure on the EA site.

What length of dressage whip is allowed and when can I use it?

Riders may carry a whip up to 120cm. Riders of ponies may carry a whip up to 100cm. The tassel is included when measuring a whip.  For any horse/pony, one whip as specified above, may be carried and used:
• in the exercise and warm-up areas
• in all tests up to and including Advanced level at all events including championships.


Can I ride a stallion at events?

Yes! You can ride stallions at our events. However, you must adhere to the requirements as set in the Equestrian Australia Rule Book.
